(CHANGE OF DATE from 9th to 16th August)The walk is in the West Head area of Ku-Ring-Gai Chase NP. We catch the Palm Beach ferry to Bennett's Wharf and walk to Mackerel Beach via the Basin and with a diversion to West Head. There are 3 ascents of 100 metres plus a little off track as well. Stunning views all the way. Hazards: Uneven ground in short off track section plus possible wading across the Basin entrance although we may be able to avoid that. Limit:16.
