LEADER: Steve Ringbauer. The flannel flowers are abundant at this time of the year. The 10km Manly Scenic Walkway beings at Manly Wharf, passes sandy beaches, ancient Aboriginal sites and incredible lookouts, before arriving at the Spit Bridge where you can catch a bus to the city. Distance and time: 10km one-way Level: Grade 3 track. Suitable for most ages and fitness levels with occasional sections of stairs. There are also sections of sand, bush tracks and boardwalk. Not suitable for prams or wheelchair users. Top attractions: Clontarf Reserve, Grotto Point Aboriginal engraving site, Crater Cove Lookout, Forty Baskets Reserve and Manly. Toilet facilities at the start and end of the walk and at Clontarf Reserve, Reef Beach, Forty Baskets Beach, North Harbour Reserve and Fairlight Beach. Barangaroo , Circular Quay, Botanic Gardens, Art Gallery, Domain. We stroll around Barangaroo headland to Circular Quay, past the Opera House and into the Botanic Gardens. Options abound including "hugging" the Wollomi Pine, the Rose Garden, any special exhibits, coffee . Art Gallery- members choice- about I hour. Lunch here in the forecourt of the Gallery extension.or Gallery restaurant. We then cross the Domain to  the Eye Hospital and Martin Place to the Metro or other train or bus and home. Projecting itself out from the cliff into the void above Carne creek caves is the aptly named Flying Carpet! This narrowish slab of rock affords the cautious walker outstanding views of the surrounding clifflines all around and far down into Carne creek. We will also visit the wonderful Koan cave too as we progress along the towering escarpment. (Fully Booked - Ask leader about waiting list) When the heat of Summer is upon us, where do we go to escape the heat? The Colo River Gorge of course! On this particular walk we will experience the outstanding beauty of what is essentially the lifeline and heart of the Wollemi wilderness, the stunning Colo River and in particular the section between Tootie Creek and Meroo campsite. Expect long sandbanks, clear, tranquil pools, the exquisite Tootie cascades and lots of peace and quiet with only birdsong and the rivers gentle sounds to keep you company, as well as you're hiking friends of course. offtrack walking along the Colo river with scrambling at times. A repeat for those who missed the walk last year (like me!). The Pretty Plain area is a lovely part of Kosciuszko National Park. Great scenery, lovely bushland, and two of the best of the huts to camp nearby. Even better, we spend multiple days near each hut (two nights at Pretty Plain and three nights at Wheelers). Access is via Dargals Trail to Pretty Plain (a new way thanks the exploration of the last year's group). We return along Pretty Plain, Hell Hole Track and take the shortcut across to Wheelers Hut. Return from Wheelers Hut is again via Dargals Trail. At the start and end of walk we stay at a Ski Lodge at Jindabyne with the usual BBQs on the deck overlooking the lake. A lovely walk with relaxing time near the huts. Location: Kosciuszko NP Limit: 12. View
