Nadgee Nature Reserve is a real delight, especially in spring with the wildflowers and hopefully a ground parrot or two. And the coastal scenery is wonderful, with perhaps a sighting of whales!
The Reserve is south of Eden and runs down to the border.
This full pack walk is out and return featuring multiple nights at two of the best locations in the Reserve – Newtons Beach and Nadgee Beach. From Newtons Beach we spend the time enjoying the beach and the lovely scenery. From Nadgee Beach, we will do a couple of lovely day walks including a visit to Bunyip Hole

Leaving the fire trail there are a couple of steep gullies to negotiate before joining an old fire trail and then a bush track leading to the escarpment. Wildflowers are prolific and the view is spectacular. Steep rough track, slippery creek crossing, fallen trees, unfenced cliff edges. NOTE: Sections of this track have become quite overgrown. A six night full pack walk involving Daveys Hut, Kidmans Hut, and Mawsons Hut. Exact details will be determined by weather and other factors. We camp near these huts but not in them so everyone needs to be fully equipped for the variety of conditions in the area. We stay at ski lodge in Jindabyne for a night on either side of the walk with our regular BBQ overlooking the lake. Always a pleasure walking in Kosciuszko area and this will feature some great scenery and bush in an area new to the leader. Location: Kosciuszko NP Limit: 15. View |

Combining management tracks, walking trails & open cross country we will walk through an interesting blend of Sydney Basin & Tableland flora & also walk along a rarely visited section of the Wingecarribee River. If there are sufficient resources available, there may be an optional detour for some of the walkers that will involve an additional climb followed by a short but steep descent. Stokes and O’Hares Creeks enclose a succession of idyllic waterholes, three of which are accessed on this delightful walk. Keep looking up for those koalas! Well-formed tracks/fire trails. The Pretty Plain area is a lovely part of Kosciuszko National Park. Great scenery, lovely bushland, and two of the best of the huts to camp nearby. Even better, we spend multiple days near each hut (two nights at Pretty Plain and three nights at Wheelers).
Access is via Dargals and Hell Hole Trails to Pretty Plain. We return along Pretty Plain and take the shortcut across to Wheelers Hut. Return is again via Dargals Trail.
At the start and end of walk we stay at a Ski Lodge at Jindabyne with the usual BBQs on the deck overlooking the lake. A lovely walk with lots of relaxing time. Location: Kosciuszko NP Limit: 12. View |
