The Pretty Plain area is a lovely part of Kosciuszko National Park. Great scenery, lovely bushland, and two of the best of the huts to camp nearby. Even better, we spend multiple days near each hut (two nights at Pretty Plain and three nights at Wheelers). Access is via Dargals and Hell Hole Trails to Pretty Plain. We return along Pretty Plain and take the shortcut across to Wheelers Hut. Return is again via Dargals Trail. At the start and end of walk we stay at a Ski Lodge at Jindabyne with the usual BBQs on the deck overlooking the lake. A lovely walk with lots of relaxing time. Location: Kosciuszko NP Limit: 12. (Nearly fully booked) Off track walk though side tributory of Carne Creek commencing from Sunnyside Ridge following the creek down past a pleasant waterfall, Dome Cave, Split Rock, Carne Creek, Cosmic Cave and then return via ridgelines to the North. I am expecting the undergrowth to be very thick following regrowth from fires. We will be going at a steady pace throughout the day with enough time to take photos and take in the scenery of the upper reaches of Carne Creek. Walk the northern section of Mimosa Rocks National Park, starting at Aragunnu. Visit the site of possibly the world's first "Alone" type television program made there about 50 years ago by the ABC. Track ends at a secluded beach. Walk may be extended to view fossils along the water's edge. Narrow, unmaintained track, steep in parts. Some clambering over fallen trunks and limbs. From Lake Alexandra we head down to the junction of Gibbergunyah Ck and Nattai River. After crossing the Nattai R we pick our way up a single track to Beasleys LO at the top of White Cat Mtn for lunch. Return via the same route. The first section of the Lost City trail has been completed and I intend to walk its length and also explore various pagodas and other highlights off the main track as there’s always plenty to attract you’re attention in this type of landscape! The pace will be relaxed and intending participants should be good at rock scrambling and be prepared for some offtrack adventuring! We will start our journey from the campsite at Wog Wog and travel via Corang Peak, Corang Arch, Profile rock to a comfortable camp cave at Burrumbeet brook. Then on day two we travel over Mt. Tarn to the superb camp cave situated on Mt. Haughton, complete with nearby waterfall. On our last day we travel via Stiles creek, Round mountain, the Endrick River and the Redgrounds track back to our cars near the Alum creek firetrail. In every way this is a walk on the wild side and with the briskness of Winter upon us a warming campfire at night and the stars above, this will certainly be one memorable walk worth doing. From Sublime Point Lookout we will make our way along the Illawarra Escarpment Walk & Forest Walk for some magnificent views and the embrace the tall blackbutt-apple shale forest before descending to the Wodi Wodi track to Stanwell Park Railway Station. Note: Car shuffle required. Hazards: Unfenced cliffs. This is a predominantly downhill walk with a steepish 200m descent at the end of the walk as we descend into Stanwell Park. (Date Changed) Two separate walks to two peaks in different areas of the beautiful Guula Ngurra NP, with a minor car shuffle. The Mt Penang loop walk follows a pleasant, well-formed track up to the summit of Mt Penang with its panoramic views. The track winds steadily uphill with a short, steep climb at the end. The Baldy Billy Peak walking track is an out-and-back walk to another summit with spectacular views down into the Wollondilly River valley below. After an initial short but very steep descent we cross a pretty, wide valley floor and then start the slow, steady climb to the summit of Baldy Billy Peak and then return along the same route. Steep climbs & descents, uneven surfaces, indistinct track in places, unfenced cliff edges, slippery in places (walking poles recommended). The Wodi Wodi track has been newly refurbished, and that's great news as this iconic trail passes through some beautiful rainforest worth visiting. Of course that's only a short section of this hike as we climb up onto the lofty Illawarra escarpment for stunning coastal views as we make our way to Sublime point for a well earned plate of optional hot chips or anything else that takes your fancy from the cafe there. This is a medium (grade 3) walk along Bargo River via Potholes Track to Diesel Pass and onto See Thru Falls then Mermaids Pool for morning tea. We will then follow the Matilda Track to a series of lookouts.   At the third lookout, we will split into 2 groups.  The optional harder (grade 4) walk will continue on and down Rosies Pass into and along Tahmoor Gorge and lunch in the gorge then return via Jacks Pass. The easier (grade 3) walk will back track to one of the lookouts for lunch. Rough track, unfenced edges, slippery rocks & creek crossings. A circular walk in the Southern section of Bangadilly NP. Combining management tracks, walking trails & open cross country we will walk through an interesting blend of Sydney Basin & Tableland flora & also walk along a rarely visited section of the Wingecarribee River. If there are sufficient resources available, there may be an optional detour for some of the walkers that will involve an additional climb followed by a short but steep descent. This is definitely one of my favourite walks in the Mugii Murum-Ban SCA as it shows off some of the most spectacular country in this fabulous location including an eagles eye view into the Valley of the Dinosaurs along with more pagodas than you can point a boot at!We will visit the Ultimate slot on the way back as it is only a short sidetrip! Once we leave the firetrail it is all offtrack walking along Treasure chest ridge but it is not terribly difficult. I've put the walk length at 6 kms but that is only if we are able to drive most of the way up the access road. A repeat of last year's walk which was just awesome; one of the very best in Kosciuszko area.  Email for an information pack about the walk. A six-night full pack walk involving Daveys Hut, Kidmans Hut, and Mawsons Hut. Exact details will be determined by weather and other factors. We camp near these huts but not in them so everyone must be fully equipped for the variety of conditions in the area which can be very variable. We stay at ski lodge in Jindabyne for a night on either side of the walk with our regular BBQ overlooking the lake. We need some suitable cars in order to access the start of the walk. Always a pleasure walking in Kosciuszko area and this walk has everything: magnificent scenery; lovely bush; great campsites; and some challenging walking.  Not to be missed!
