Cycle along the highway and Meroo Head Road before taking a rough bush track back to Termeil Point. The Federal Pass takes us amongst the trees below the cliffs to the Leura Forest. Then a long climb up to Fern Bower and the exit at Merriwa St. Walk back to Katoomba Station. Good track. The walk begins at Meryla Pass in Morton NP. From the locked gate continue on the Fire Trail along the ridge. The first section is a fairly steep fire trail but flattens out and then follows along a track.There are several viewpoints which look towards Mt Carrialoo, Crankey's Creek and Lake Yarrunga until reaching the end of the track overlooking Wombat Hill. If conditions are suitable we push through on a less defined track to Yarrunga Trig for great views down to the jnct of Yarrunga Creek & Kangaroo R. On the return there is an optional trail leading to Rebecca's View over Sandy's Creek on the other side of the ridge.
