Commencing Kitchener Street, St Ives and down to the creek and fire trail via creek, Mueller Track, where the stillness of nature surrounds you, and up to The Wildflower Garden. Continues to Solander Track. Pretty along the creek, with a waterfall (Phantom Falls). Some quite wet tiny tracks. Lots of ups and downs. Those who use hiking sticks, bring them. Visitors/info centre, next to Senses Track, has a coffee machine and native plant nursery. Return via a slightly shorter route. Limit: 15.

This walk starts and finishes at The Ponds Shopping Centre. Morning tea and lunch here or at adjacent park. Bring own morning tea and lunch or buy from the shops. Bring a snack in case we end up having a late lunch. The suburb of The Ponds straddles Second Ponds Creek. This creek flows north over 10km from Parklea, through The Ponds and Rouse Hill Regional Park, to join the Cattai River at Annangrove. Along our walk we will see remnants of the woodland that covered this flood plain. As well, we visit Dragonfly Pool and the pretty Ironbark Lake. Mostly on shared concrete pathway. Booking opens 2 weeks prior to event. Walk from Cheltenham Railway Station to Eastwood Railway Station via the Lane Cove National Park. Follow fire trail along Devlins Creek to the junction of the Great North Walk (GNW). Follow GNW until we come to the turnoff to the Terrys Creek Track. Follow this track through various parks to Terrys Creek falls and on to Vimiera Park. Road walk to Eastwood Railway Station. Possible sighting of flannel flowers and other flowers in bloom during this walk. Rough and slippery track in a few spots. Creek crossings.

LEADER: Philip Wright Start with a coffee at the famous German bakery, Then walk to Wentworth Falls lake. The circuit around the lake shows you the serene beauty of the lake. Admire the water birds, sculptures and the flora...Maples, tea trees, grevillea ( specific to this area), isopogan, sun Orchid, wild strawberries, tree ferns, and of course Waratahs and rhododendrons flowering in October. There are more species unknown to the leader. Botanists are invited to join the walk to enrich our knowledge. If you are lucky, you will see redbellied snakes. On return to the station, you can treat yourself with the famous pastries at the German bakery.

Leader: Lynne Hewitt. Join us for a tour to this idyllic island just a hop, skip and a jump from Hawkesbury River Station, Brooklyn. Upon arrival on this car-free oasis of bush, beach and tranquillity, we will be welcomed by tree-lined palms and jacarandas. On the lower grounds we'll walk past the Bowling Club and Bradleys Beach. On the higher grounds we'll get great views of the Hawkesbury River. We'll also walk past a Blackbutt – Rough-barked Apple Forest. Enjoy the scenic train ride across the Hawkesbury River and a joy ferry ride to the island. Enjoy lunch or Devonshire tea at Dangar Island Depot before taking the ferry back home. Bring money for ferry ($8.50 one way adult, $4.30 one way concession (not sure seniors are considered concession)). |

Leaders: Allan Porter and Philip Wright. Gorgeous by Day and Magical by night. It is a beautiful short round trip walk that showcases the rainforest environment on the valleys of the Blue Mountains. Very easy access, some steep steps, overhangs, footbridges over streams, lyre birds, ferns and amazing atmosphere. Fireflies . Glow worms. We walk twice, once in the afternoon and once after dark. We have a break to have dinner before we walk to see the fly flies followed by Glow worms. Thai/ Hotel/IGA/Sports Club/Cafe/ Petrol Station available at Springwood. You must commit to both day and evening walks before RSVP. Bright Headlamp, preferably with red light, with spare batteries is essential for your safety. If you arrive with no headlamp, you will be turned back. Many steps, metal bits on ground, small creek crossings, muddy in parts. Limit:8.

This is a Xmas walk organised by Bob Rankin and Esther. Join us to celebrate Steve's birthday as well. A walk in Green Square/Zetland/Waterloo area. This pleasant walk starts from Lindfield Park and heads through the bushland to the Two Creeks Track, which it follows through the national park to, and along, Middle Harbour Creek. The walk returns to Lindfield Park via the picturesque Little Digger Track, and through a few shortcut alley ways in East Lindfield. Steep, rugged and slippery sections. Limit: 15.
