Park the cars near Angus Place. Walk on trail to SH 1127, then off trail north east to SH 1095. Descend into Kangaroo Creek at around GR 329 060, then follow the cliff line and ledges all the way to GR 315 056. Exit to Angus Place Trail and walk back to vehicles. About 12 km. From the station we walk along San Jose Ave to North Lawson Trail, then follow cliff top to Echo Bluff, Echo Point and Fairy Falls. Down steps to Dantes Glen Falls, St Michaels Falls, Empire Pass and a gentle up hill to Frederica Falls. Take Hughes Ave track back to Lawson. Don't expect the huge cliffs and scenery of Katoomba. Continues to Solander Track. Pretty along the creek, with a waterfall (Phantom Falls). Some quite wet tiny tracks. Lots of ups and downs. Those who use hiking sticks, bring them. Visitors/info centre, next to Senses Track, has a coffee machine and native plant nursery. Return via a slightly shorter route. Limit: 15. View |

This walk starts and finishes at The Ponds Shopping Centre. Morning tea and lunch here or at adjacent park. Bring own morning tea and lunch or buy from the shops. Bring a snack in case we end up having a late lunch. The suburb of The Ponds straddles Second Ponds Creek. This creek flows north over 10km from Parklea, through The Ponds and Rouse Hill Regional Park, to join the Cattai River at Annangrove. Along our walk we will see remnants of the woodland that covered this flood plain. As well, we visit Dragonfly Pool and the pretty Ironbark Lake. Mostly on shared concrete pathway.
