Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or long(Postponed) The walk begins at Manning Lookout near Fitzroy Falls.  Here there are great views over Kangaroo Valley.  The walk then follows the escarpment past several view points and along a fence line across a couple of small creeks to Crystal Pool.  The water leaves the pool to fall over the escarpment into the valley below.  Return by the same route. Hazards:  Indistinct and easily lost track, rough track, fallen trees, slippery rocks and unfenced cliff edges.

Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longPublic Transport | There are public transport options to and from this activity.This section of the Great North Walk starts from Hornsby Train Station and winds down along the Blue Gum Walk into Fishponds and along Berowra Creek. The walk passes through the Tunks Ridge Reserve and then into Galston Gorge. From here we walk to Hornsby Heights via McKay Firetrail where we will catch a bus to Hornsby. Steep and slippery sections. A few creek crossings. Need to watch out for some of the unsteady stepping stones at Galston Gorge

The walk features stunning views, beaches, parks, cliffs, bays and rock pools. The beaches and parks offer a place to rest, swim or a chance to eat at one of the cafes, hotels, restaurants or takeaways. Most beaches offer picnic shelters, play areas, kiosks, toilets and change-rooms.   There are rest stops with great views and seating along the coast. Optional lunch at Bondi Beach. there are some steep gradient paths and several staircases along the track.

We walk from Canterbury Station to Ashfield, where we will go to the Leagues Club for Yum Cha. If you prefer, the Club also has a cafe and bistro for western food. If you prefer a picnic lunch, you can go to Allman Park instead. Walk will be cut short if it is a hot day. Points of interest: Canterbury Park Race Course, Canterbury Park, Gough Reserve, Yeo Park, Trinity Grammar School of which I have an affinity for, Peace Park, Peace Park Viewing Tower, beautiful old houses. There is a coffee shop at the start and for morning tea (V, GF).

Many grass trees. Some wildflowers. Steep and slippery sections. A few creek crossings.

Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longPublic Transport | There are public transport options to and from this activity.(DRAFT - do not publish yet) Pretty well the grand tour of the Rumbalara Reserve, this walk takes in much of the great scenery the reserve has to offer. The walk covers both the lower and upper sections of the reserve and passes through the great variety of forest on show. The walk also passes three of the four bronze sculptures in the reserve. Yaruga picnic area would be a great spot to stop for lunch with it’s facilities and excellent views. Limit: 10. View

This time a change! We aim to leave on 20 Apr but will pick the actual start date after we see the weather forecast. You need to be available in case a slightly later start date is chosen. We have one night on Round Mountain fire trail, then two lovely nights at both Pretty Plain and then Wheelers Huts. A lovely walk to do with the usual great scenery and the usual lovely Koscie bushland and flowers.

Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longFirst time friendly | A trip that is perfect for most new members (assuming you have a reasonable level of fitness)Photography | A trip that has a strong focus on encouraging people to capture photographs.Public Transport | There are public transport options to and from this activity.(DRAFT - do not publish yet)   Located in Caringbah and overlooking beautiful Yowie Bay, the Gardens were recognised by the International Camellia Society as a Camellia Gardens of Excellence in 2014.  There are sixty Camellia Gardens of Excellence in the world, with the Camellia Gardens and Lisgar Gardens in Hornsby being the only two in NSW. The Gardens have over 400 cultivars and species donated and acquired since its first plantings began in 1969, in addition to many other rare ornamental and native plants. The collection is of unique value to Australian horticulture. The Gardens have something for all seasons. The camellias are in season during autumn and winter.
