(Fully Booked - Ask leader about waiting list) The former mining town of Yerranderie is now a very pleasant place to stay with the option of cabin accommodation or very comfortable camping at the cars, complete with hot showers, gas BBQs and shelters in case of rain. On this 4-day weekend I'm planning to explore many of the local attractions, including climbing Yerranderie Peak, The Axehead Range and other local mountains. These walks are on very rough tracks or off-track, so expect to encounter some scrub along the way.
Places are strictly limited, so contact me asap if you want to join me on this wonderful 4-day escape into a rarely visited and captivating location. Rock scrambling and off-track. Location: Yerranderie RP Map: Yerranderie 89294N and Bindook 89294S Limit: 20. View |

The Hawkesbury sandstone country we will be travelling through has a lot to offer the intrepid walker, so come along and see for yourself why this area is a must-visit location. (NEW!!!) Rock Island is a stunning and almost treeless ridge above Deanes Creek. Surrounded by deep and beautifully lush ravines, to reach the island we will pass through the beautiful “Valley that Time Forgot”. Also, grand sandstone overhangs, awesomely large trees, and a few more surprises.
A grade 4 to grade 5 walk. A few moderate climbs, and a total elevation gain of 400m. At 12 km it’s a moderately long walk. Mostly off track but not overly technical. There are short sections of thick scrub at the start and end. Time for photos and side explorations is required, so this will be a long day with an early start.
The walk spans a corner of each of the Ben Bullen, Cullen Bullen, Rock Hill and Mount Morgan topogoraphic maps. Some short sections of thick scrub on steep slopes. Location: Wollemi NP Map: Mount Morgan 89311S, Ben Bullen 89314S, Rock Hill 89312N, and Cullen Bullen 89313N Limit: 12. View |
