  Walk in Mimosa Rocks National Park. During Spring the park is a popular area for birdwatching, being an important stop for migratory birds that nest along its coastline. Walk will traverse Gillards camping area, then join a track linking onto Cowdroys Rd, leading to Nelson Lagoon. Lunch at the lagoon, with the option of going further to Nelson estuary. | From the Little Forest car park, we follow the refurbished track out to Rusden Head. Most of the wetter areas are now boardwalked. Along the way we will visit ‘The Carriages’, a truly unusual overhang (the less agile will need to just peek in from above) with stunning views across the valley, then back to waterfalls below Porters Creek Dam. Another viewpoint and ravines to the south (Kathy’s view) beckons, before we reach Rusden Head for lunch. Map: Milton 89272N View |
