Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longFully Vaccinated | All participants must be able to show proof they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 to particpate.(Fully Booked) We have an opportunity to explore some of the best of the North Shore of Sydney Harbour. Starting at Balmoral Beach with its little jetty and huge fig trees; to Middle Head to explore fortifications and cliff top views beyond the Heads; then through angophora trees to Georges Heights and barracks converted to artist studios; and on to Clifton Gardens for lunch. Then we will walk beside secluded bays to the navy memorials at Bradley’s Head. Then it is a short walk to Taronga Zoo for a Ferry to Circular Quay and trains home. It all starts by boarding the first carriage of the SHL train at 7.14 am in Bowral and arriving in Wynyard at 9.45 then a bus or taxis to Balmoral beach. After coffee we shall start our walk at about 10:30 am. The walk is about 11kms. It takes about 4 hours and 45 mins including lunch and many stops along the way ( but not for cafes or a swim ). See what Arthur Streeton saw when he did some of his finest work. - See the lizards, lorikeets, wrens and bush turkeys. - Listen to the currawongs. Hear the waves, lapping at the shore. - Enter the fortifications where microbats now live. We aim to arrive at Taronga Zoo in time for connections to SHL train departing Central at 4pm. If all goes to plan you will be back at Bowral at 6pm.
