A 4-day pack walk.
Park at Benjang Gap, walk up Lee Creek till Lost Chord Ravine, GR 327 904, about 5 km, and establish a camp. We will stay at this camp for two nights and do two day-walks in this very complex and spectacular area. This part is partly exploratory.
It is fully exploratory from here on. On Day 3, we will strike the camp and find a way up through the cliffs to the north west and to the pagoda-studded tops. After establishing a camp at around GR 335 910, we will explore the ravine to the north with day packs only. The aim will be also to find water.
On Day 4, we will traverse the Tal Tal Range northwards till GR 321 930 or GR 310 941, where I expect to find passes back down to Lee Creek and the vehicles.
About 30 km. Mostly exploratory. Scrambling and exposure. Location: Wollemi NP Map: Talooby 89324N Limit: 8.

Kosciuszko National park:Summertime in the Alps |
|
|
|
|
Sydney Branch |
| Mark G. |
(NEW!!!) (Nearly fully booked) Summertime in the Australian Alps is hard to beat with the wildflowers in full bloom and the almost endless possibilities to walk to your hearts content make it a compelling place to visit.
As usual our group will stay in the very comfortable Southern Alps ski lodge at Charlottes Pass over the 5 nights which will allow us to explore the best that Kosciuszko has to offer. The lodge is DIY and has comfortable rooms which can accommodate 1 to 5 people with most rooms being either a double or twin arrangement and all rooms have an ensuite.
There is a commercial style kitchen, large dining area, 2 lounges, BBQ and various other rooms to relax in!
The rates at this lodge are very reasonable and quite a bit cheaper than adjacent lodges!
As this is usually my most popular trip that I organise each year I’d advise you to contact me to be added to the booking list as there are only so many bedrooms available.
As on previous years there will be several leaders to choose from and a wide range of hikes available from grade 2 to 5. Location: Kosciuszko NP Limit: 20.
