Wrapped around Sydney Harbour, the Gardens occupy one of Sydney's most spectacular positions. Established in 1816, it is the oldest scientific institution in the country and is home to an outstanding collection of plants from Australia and overseas. From the provocative rare and threatened plants of the world to the romantic rose garden, the themed garden areas show the diverse beauty of nature. Optional lunch at Chai Thai View

Walk finishes at Mittagong. Expect to see some tulips on the way and a very long day. Many steps and overgrown paths. Steep and rocky sections

They are majestic flowers to admire.  https://www.cbcity.nsw.gov.au/environment/parks-reserves/sylvan-grove-native-garden It s also a botanical garden with a variety of plants.  After the garden, we will take a walk in Georges National Park with great views of the river.  Spring flowers including native orchids will be plenty. To mark the anniversary of "Crossing the Blue Mountains 2020", we will do the "Magical Wentworth Falls to Lawson via Bruces Walk" again. Begin with the Maple trees lined streets of beautiful Wentworth Falls. It’s a memorable walk with wildflowers galore (Waratahs, Bearded Orchids, Sun orchids, Caladenia, greenhoods) waterfalls, caves, gum forests, sassafras’s forests, birdlife and majestic views. This walk is not for you if you don’t like creek crossings (5), steep climbs and vertical ladders (4). Steep and slippery sections, slides and rock scrambling.

Today we explore Hornsby and Normanhurst including Lisgar Gardens. Lisgar Gardens is a wonderful, secret garden hidden in the back streets of Hornsby. Spread across 6 acres, the garden packs a lot in with a little bit of something for everyone. This walk will be easier than my Neighbourhood Walk with less steep climbs. Preview of Lisgar Gardens There are sixty Camellia Gardens of Excellence in the world, with the Camellia Gardens and Lisgar Gardens in Hornsby being the only two in NSW. Stairs and slippery sections.

Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longPublic Transport | There are public transport options to and from this activity.The Australian Botanic Garden Mount Annan showcases Australian flora amongst 416 hectares of rolling hills, lakes, lawns and gardens. In the late 18th century, the discovery of a new continent filled with exotic plants unknown to the rest of the world created waves of excitement in the field of botany. The Australian Botanic Garden displays approximately 2000 of these plants via themed gardens across the site as well as the Connections Garden, a four-hectare intensely cultivated space right in the heart of the Garden. Other features of the Garden include a restaurant, visitor centre with gift shop, free gas barbecues and acres of Cumberland Plain Woodland to explore. Come Spring, the paper daisies become an attraction for visitors. Various species of Waratahs will be flowering too. After seeing the floral display, we will walk to the Sundial, Mount Annan Peak, the Blue Tree before leaving the Garden to visit Lake Yandel'ora before catching the bus home. Expect a long day.

Cherry Tree Walk is a beautiful walk in Bowral. It consists of a walking/bike track beside the Mittagong Rivulet and 526 cherry trees that have been planted, dedicated to each and every soldier who died during the Vietnam War. The walk is particularly attractive in spring when the cherry trees are in flower. Incorporated into the design of the War Memorial has been a monument, inscribed with the names of the Australians who gave their lives in the service of their country. Then we continue to the Southern Highlands Botanical Garden. Expect a very long day. View

Birdwood Gully Walk: Gorgeous by Day and Magical by night. It  is  a beautiful short round trip walk that showcases the rainforest environment on the valleys of the Blue Mountains. Very easy access, some steep steps, overhangs, footbridges over streams, lyre birds, ferns and amazing atmosphere. Limit: 12. View

Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longPublic Transport | There are public transport options to and from this activity.(DRAFT - do not publish yet) Pretty well the grand tour of the Rumbalara Reserve, this walk takes in much of the great scenery the reserve has to offer. The walk covers both the lower and upper sections of the reserve and passes through the great variety of forest on show. The walk also passes three of the four bronze sculptures in the reserve. Yaruga picnic area would be a great spot to stop for lunch with it’s facilities and excellent views. View

Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longPublic Transport | There are public transport options to and from this activity.(DRAFT - do not publish yet) To avoid the crowd in Rhododendron Festival on the first Saturday of November, we will visit Blackheath for it's wonderful display of Rhododendrons and Azaleas.  I have also noticed in the previous years, rhododendrons bloom much earlier than the official Rhododendron Festival date. Start with a coffee in one of Blackheath's fabulous cafes.  Visit Campbell Rhododendron Gardens.  Have a pie for lunch in a much loved pie shop in Blackheath before heading home.

Opened in November 2003, Mt Penang Gardens is considered an enduring and radical contribution to public garden design in Australia. Its distinctive design by Anton James sets it apart from the traditional botanical garden. His garden within a garden produces an understated landscape that is less manicured and in a constant state of being. It continues to evolve today. 12 unique garden rooms, sculptures and cascading waterways. Expect a long day
