This lovely cooler walk will be led by Les Heitter, but bookings to John Hain, please. We will meet at Narrabeen B line bus stop on Pittwater Road, just past the Tramshed Café (with an old Sydney tram parked outside). The walk will do a circuit right around Narrabeen Lagoon including along the beach to where it empties into the ocean. The lake is home to many seabirds, black swans and some aggressive Kookaburras who delight in stealing your food. The walk will take us past the Sydney Academy of Sport, Cromer Golf course, Jamieson Park and many beautiful lakeside spots. Booking is essential giving your NPA, phone and Emergency numbers, unless I already have them. Bike riders as well as road and beach (sand) walking.

16 Mar, Mon 10:00AM Bundeena – Jibbon Head – The Balconies – Bundeena.
Grade:4/6 Length 10km  141m Sydney Branch

Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longPhotography | A trip that has a strong focus on encouraging people to capture photographs.Public Transport | There are public transport options to and from this activity.(NEW!!!) This walk is a real favourite and a great adventure. It has spectacular coastal views and gorgeous coastal heath bushland to walk through. Though shown as a grade 4, because of the push through bushes to get to the rock platform and a bit of a scramble up an eroded track, most of the walk would be grade 2. Starting at Bundeena we walk along the beach and tracks to Jibbon Head, visiting the Aboriginal engravings on the way. We will mostly walk along the rock platform towards the Balconies where we join the coastal track back to Bundeena. There is a steep climb from the last beach up to the headland along an eroded track that requires a bit of a scramble. Booking essential giving your mobile, emergency contact and NPA numbers unless I already have them. It could be slippery and possibly slushy in places. Uneven rock surfaces. It is exposed and a more inland route, through sandhills could be taken if the weather is unsuitable for the coastal route. Some street walking in Bundeena.
