Walk north east, initially on the old firetrail to spot heights 1004 and 1002. Turn north, then east and make our way to the cliff edge at about GR 397 160. From here, commence exploration of this dissected terrain going south. There is much to see and do before we reach the point GR 410 144 above the Flying Carpet. This is likely to be two walks. About 8 km. Exploratory. Scrambling and exposure.

This is a great walk and not that difficult although it does entail some scrambling, mainly off-track walking, but certainly worth it. Rock scrambling.

We will follow the eastern side of Girrakool Creek down over Piles Creek before heading south over Scopas Peak, then the Hawkesbury Track, the old Woy Woy Road, past the scout camp and back along the western Girrakool circuit back to the start. Expect lots of scenic lookouts, beautiful waterfalls, and of course a mass of wildflowers including Waratahs which should be coming into bloom.

Camp | An activity that involves an overnight stay, usually in a tent.Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or long(Cancelled) Drive to Jindabyne on day 1. Day 2 drive to Dead Horse Gap and walk 10k to Cascade Hut and set up tents and explore the area. Day 3 walk with day pack towards Tin Mind huts or to Tin Mind Falls, returning to Cascade Hut for the night. Day 4 - Either walk part way back to cars or day walk towards The Chimneys. Day 5 - Walk back to cars, then Jindabyne for the night. Return home the following day. Pace: unhurried. Min distance 20k, more if other options are taken up. If unknown to leader, please advise walking experience.

Aim to walk up to Chinamens Gully and search around the area taking in the lookouts and wildflowers along the way. Rock scrambling up onto Mt Solitary.

Actually the "Centre of Universe" "994" to see the Submarine Rock, the  Wollangambe River and pagodas, without having have to tackle difficult or dangerous tracks. At this time of the year, there will be abundant display of wildflowers, including waratahs, orchids and the not easily found Pterostylis tunstallii. Steep and slippery sections, obstacles.
