|(NEW!!!) Rising up from the Wolgan Valley in isolation, Donkey Mountain has always had a great appeal to me and in this my 6th visit I'll explore a few nooks and crannies I haven't been to before! Be prepared to be knocked out by the superlative views from its pagoda studded summit and by the numerous small rooms, slots and passes as we travel from one end to the other. Rock scrambling and off-track walking.

|The walk begins at Meryla Pass in Morton NP. From the locked gate continue on the fire trail along the ridge. There are several viewpoints which look towards Mt Carrialoo, Crankeys Creek and Lake Yarrunga until reaching the end of the track overlooking Wombat Hill. On the return there is an optional trail leading to Rebeccas View over Sandys Creek on the other side of the ridge. Rough track and unfenced cliffs.

|The annual trip to Splendour Rock in the Blue Mountains, this time on the weekend of full moon. Just two weeks later, in Chile, this moon has a meeting with the sun in a total eclipse. Splendour Rock is a wonderful experience seeing the landscape under full moon, and at sunrise and sunset! This is a lovely trip with an unforgettable view from the campsite.

|From the end of Jacks Corner Road follow Griffins Fire Trail to a track to the left. Follow this through the forest to a steep descent to the main dirt road leading to Beehive Point on Lake Yarrunga. This is a lovely picnic area and chance for a swim. Return by the main dirt road. Rough track and some steep sections both up and down.

|From the Cascades car park climb steeply beside the waterfall and continue to a service road. Descend via old forest trails. The second section of this walk is very steep with the need to hang on to tree roots etc for stability.

This provides a lovely lunch place among the rocks with wonderful views into Upper Kangaroo Valley. Rough track, fallen trees, unfenced cliffs and steep ascent/descent.

|Gibbergunyah Nature Reserve is between Bowral and Mittagong. The walk takes in views of Mt Gibraltar (highest point between Sydney and Canberra), Ninety Acre Hill Lookout and a track which winds through a beautiful fern gully. The track is sometimes overgrown and difficult to locate. Rough track, steep sections, slippery rocks and unfenced cliff edges.

We will have two food drops on the way and so the packs will not be too heavy. A lovely walk with a variety of vegetation and scenery, beautiful lakes, and spectacular sand dunes. The walk gets most of the climbing out of the way quickly. Once up on the main ridge there are great views along the Hawkesbury River and Mooney Mooney Creek. Highlights of the walk include Kariong Brook Falls and Mt Wondabyne, the highest point in the area. We will catch a taxi from Woy Woy landfill to Woy Woy Station to avoid 4 km of boring road walk.

Superb views, grass trees abound, lots of wildflowers. Return to Brooklyn by ferry in the afternoon. Bring exact fare for ferry (return fare is adult $15.40 and $7.80 for seniors), lunch, drinks and snacks. Slippery sections, some bush bashing and rock scrambling.

|This park protects the largest surviving koala population is greater Sydney. Stokes and O’Hares Creeks enclose a succession of idyllic waterholes, three of which are accessed on this delightful walk. Keep looking up for those koalas!
