Join a NPWS Discovery Ranger on a fascinating 40 minute easy grade historic walking tour around Audley. Learn about the history, flora and fauna of Australia’s oldest National Park. View photos of Rangers on horseback, Bushwalks and picnics from the early 1900's, Allambie Guest House, Horse and buggy on Lady Carrington Drive, Confiscated boats during World War ll and more. | As part of the NSW Seniors Festival events NPWS is running a Meeting of Cultures walking tour Kurnell.
In 1770, Lieutenant (later Captain) James Cook landed at Botany Bay. He and his Endeavour crew stayed in the area for eight days and had a dramatic impact on Australian history. Seniors are invited to join a NPWS Discovery Ranger on an easy 40 minute easy grade walking tour around the heritage-listed Kamay Botany Bay National Park. Hear the story of Cooks arrival in Botany Bay and the meeting of European and Aboriginal cultures. See where the Endeavour was moored, the location where Cook and his crew landed, The Joseph Banks monument and more. Before or after the tour visit the NPWS Visitor Centre to see the historical exhibition including a canon from the Endeavour. Bookings essential.
