We stay two nights near the lovely Oldfields Hut and a climb of Mt Bimberi (highest mountain in the ACT) is then an option for us. A full pack walk requiring tents, food, and good gear as the weather can be extreme (and often is). Six nights out with the last spent near cars at Blue Waterholes.

One of the walks we do will be the last leg of the 37 day Save Kosci Walk from Sydney to Mount Kosciusko. I will be traveling to stay at a Perisher Valley Ski Lodge from Thursday to Monday. You can travel on Thursday or Friday and leave Monday. You must arrange your own car transport. Only RSVP if you can commit because pre-payment is required once confirmed. Please indicate the dates of accommodation you require with your full name, I'll see if I can secure accommodation for you. The cost is about $40 per person per night. Bring all food and linen. We must leave the lodge in the same condition we found it. Strong wind, rain, snow patches, slippery sections.

Park one vehicle at GR 465 014 off Waratah Ridge Road and another one at about GR 460 005. From the first vehicle, descend into Ethereal Canyon and follow it through a beautiful canyon section and to the falls. No abseiling, but wet feet and more likely. Then visit the small but stunning Midsummers Night Grotto. From there, ascend to the Five Ladies Lookout over the Bungleboori and its pagodas (Three Sisters, watch out). Re-connect with the second car. Spectacular scenery, all unprotected within the State Forest.

Walk from Jannali Station to Burnum Burnum Sactuary. Tranquillity and serenity are key to this spot. The river is in a deep valley so the water is often mirror smooth. The bridge is a very high structure, it towers above the gorge. At the far end of the park area is a bushtrack ... Follow it for a semi easy but steep walk up to the top for a view back down. Followed by picnic dinner. Then walk to Bonnet Bay to see the Xmas lights. Return home by walking to Jannali Station. Jointly led by James Moule and Esther Chow. No need to contact leader but email RSVP is appreciated. Slippery sections. Be prepared for a late night as it won't get dark until 9pm.

From our starting point at Mt Selwyn we travel via the following huts 4 Mile Dam, Broken Dam, Brooks, Mackeys, O'Keefes, Derschkos and Round Mountain. Camping near many of these as they offer shelter when the weather turns foul and good flat campsites. The highlight of the trip is climbing Mt Jagungal from Okeefes Hut, but the various frost hollow plains and what are usually spectacular floral displays are also worth coming along for! Head down a spur trending slightly west of south and then south as it nears Dingo Creek. Visit Howling Arch, an amazing natural feature. Enter Dingo Creek and progress downstream for about 1.3km, visiting the scenic Pool of Diana on the way, continue underneath high cliffs to GR 476 048, the start of a north, north west trending ravine. Follow the ravine up, visiting the spectacular Pool of Aphrodite along the way, to eventually reconnect with the trail and the vehicles. All off-track, some rock scrambling and exposure.

Then we will follow the lakes track past lakes Adelaide Meston and Junction to where we enter the Never Never region, taking this to Hartnett Falls. From here it's following the Overland Track past Bert Nichols Hut then diverging for a side trip to Pine Valley to explore the Labyrinth and climb the Acropolis and if time allows Mt Geryon. This is a walk you won't want to miss as we will discover a world of uncommon beauty, including masses of flowering herbs and shrubs, towering mountains worth climbing! This trip has two sections. The first part is in the Mt Hotham and Dinner Plains area of the Alpine National Park from 31 Mar to 8 April 2019, a series of six day walks. The walks are Mt Tabletop (10km), Brandy Creek to Cobrunga River (8km), Mt Feathertop Summit via Razorback Track (22km), Cobungra Ditch Walk (12.5km), The Huts Walk (15km), Brabralung Trail (12km). Five of the walks are Grade 3 and the Mt Feathertop Summit is Grade 4. Accommodation will be in a self-catering ski lodge in Mt Hotham. Limit is 18. Between trips there is two days in Corryong. The second part of the trip is in the Jagungal Wilderness Area in the Kosciusko National Park from 10 April to 12 April. A 43km three day circuit pack walk. Day 1 is 16km - Round Mountain Car Park to O’Keefe’s Hut, Day 2 is 13km with a 400 metres steep ascent - O’Keefe’s Hut to Derschkos Hut via Mt Jagungal, Day 3 is 14km from Derschkos Hut to Round Mountain Car Park. Then follows 2 day walks climbing Mt Canobla and Point Anderson both of which offer fantastic views of the surrounding Gardens of Stone National Park. This basecamp has reliable water, acres of grassy river flats to camp on and no crowds and is one of my favourite campsites ever! A bit of rock scrambling here and there.

Mid May –  Early June 2019 Tour of Azerbaijan, Georgia and Armenia. Expressions of interest sought for a tour of the above countries for 21 days. The proposed itinerary will take us to many of the well know sights within these countries where we will see museums of craft and ancient and modern art, bazaar’s, local village life and crafts, mud volcanoes, learn about the Zoroastrian worship, see ancient rock paintings, visit a unique cave complex, ride the longest cable in the world, see the first official Christian church along with many more sight along the way. We will have several cooking master classes of the local food as well as visiting several wineries along the way. The tour also includes a 20km day walk through the Shahdag National Park, an 8 km day walk through Dilijan National Park, a small hike to what is called “The Symphony of Stones”, 4x4 jeeps to the foot of Mount Kazbek (2170m) and visits to valleys and waterfalls along the way. We walk the length of the Great Walk on the Fraser Island at a leisurely pace taking 8 days. We will have two food drops on the way and so the packs will not be too heavy. A lovely walk with a variety of vegetation and scenery, beautiful lakes, and spectacular sand dunes. The tall trees in the Valley of the Giants are a must to see! Spaces strictly limited because of transport requirements along the beaches of Fraser Island. Limit: 13. View

The walk gets most of the climbing out of the way quickly. Once up on the main ridge there are great views along the Hawkesbury River and Mooney Mooney Creek. Highlights of the walk include Kariong Brook Falls and Mt Wondabyne, the highest point in the area. We will catch a taxi from Woy Woy landfill to Woy Woy Station to avoid 4 km of boring road walk.

Slippery sections, some bush bashing and rock scrambling.
