The walk then returns to the Cooks Nose Lookout a wonderful lunch spot. On the edge of the escarpment there are spectacular views. Rough track often wet, muddy and slippery, unfenced lookout.

Leaving the fire trail there are a couple of steep gullies to negotiate before joining an old fire trail and then a bush track leading to the escarpment. Wild flowers are prolific and the view spectacular. Steep rough track slippery creek crossing, fallen trees, unfenced cliff edges.

Then two wonderful days to chill out at the best bush campsite in the Blue Mountains with nice side trips. The final day is a walk back up the hill to the cars (sigh!). A "resort" but still a solid full pack walk to get there and back. Mostly off-track walking.

Return from Circular Quay Station to catch 4.01pm train from Central. Paved paths, steps, coffee shops.

Also the bird and mammal life is quite diverse with many species worth searching out. This is quite an easy backpack suitable for someone new to overnight camping. A bit of off-track from the river to White Box Camp.

It’s the 21st anniversary trip to the western slopes of the Snowy Mts and northern Kosciuszko NP. Camp or cabin at caravan park. Day walks and exploring the region while learning about Snowy Hydro Scheme, Hume and Hovell and the impact of wild horses. Own transport or find a buddy. Will be some dirt road driving to walks. The final 150 metres are very steep and give access to a trig point. A little further on there are spectacular views. Return by the same route. Very steep and rough track, unfenced lookout.

The Edwards is an annabranch of the Murray starting at Picnic Point and rejoining the Murray 60km down stream of Swan Hill. Camping out of the kayaks/canoes. The pace is easy but paddlers need to be able to pack and camp out of their kayaks for up to 5 days and there will be number of weirs to portage. Snags in the river and weirs to portage. PFDs compulsory.

We stay two nights near the lovely Oldfields Hut and a climb of Mt Bimberi (highest mountain in the ACT) is then an option for us. A full pack walk requiring tents, food, and good gear as the weather can be extreme (and often is). Six nights out with the last spent near cars at Blue Waterholes.

From our starting point at Mt Selwyn we travel via the following huts 4 Mile Dam, Broken Dam, Brooks, Mackeys, O'Keefes, Derschkos and Round Mountain. Camping near many of these as they offer shelter when the weather turns foul and good flat campsites. The highlight of the trip is climbing Mt Jagungal from Okeefes Hut, but the various frost hollow plains and what are usually spectacular floral displays are also worth coming along for! The campsite has a decent sized shelter, electric bbqs, water and tables. Some rock scrambling amongst the granite.

Camp | An activity that involves an overnight stay, usually in a tent.Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longThe Walls of Jerusalem is probably my favourite walking area in Australia and on this trip we will travel via the Lake Rowallen entry point into this incredibly beautiful area and spend a couple of days exploring the various peaks, tarns, lakes and forests that this world heritage area has to offer. Then we will follow the lakes track past lakes Adelaide Meston and Junction to where we enter the Never Never region, taking this to Hartnett Falls. From here it's following the Overland Track past Bert Nichols Hut then diverging for a side trip to Pine Valley to explore the Labyrinth and climb the Acropolis and if time allows Mt Geryon. This is a walk you won't want to miss as we will discover a world of uncommon beauty, including masses of flowering herbs and shrubs, towering mountains worth climbing! Mostly on tracks with sections of open country off-track. Limit: 12. View
