Along the river we have several options: one option is checking out Tryers Gorge just upstream of Sparkes Buttress and another is to wander along the casurinas before having lunch and then ascending back to the cars via the same route. Be prepared to be knocked out by the superlative views from its pagoda studded summit and by the numerous small rooms, slots and passes as we travel from one end to the other. Rock scrambling and off-track walking.

There are plenty of excellent views, especially at Naa Badu Lookout and the many creek vantage points along the way. There are some solid climbs on this walk so be sure to allow enough time. And we can even have lunch midday! We'll need the rest before heading up the hill. Some steep sections.

Mostly footpaths. Some gravel road. At the end of Russel St we follow old car tracks through the sand, grass and scrub; so not all smooth.
