Gulaga and the surrounding landscape are important for Aboriginal people and especially significant to the Yuin women of the South Coast of NSW. We have a guide booked in who is a traditional owner. An extinct volcano is rising 806 metres above sea level, we will walk the steep track up the mountain that was built in 1894 for gold miners. Take the gravel path from Pam's Store in Tilba Tilba and continue up the mountain. Please note this walk is considered hard. Bring sensible shoes, sunscreen, hat, at least 2 litres of water per person, afternoon tea.

Numbers are strictly limited due to multiple private properties access. Start at GR 357 188 on Wolgan Road. Walk N, then NW, then SSW and locate a narrow ridge at around GR 332 192. Now, climb this ridge and find a way to the tops. Follow the escarpment NW, then N around a tributary of Liberty Gully till about GR 331 201. From here, walk SE and visit a high point at around GR 333 199. Retrace NW, descend the gully to the W and make our way to the top of Alcatraz. Find a descent via the gully to the S; alternatively, use Woolpack Gap. Scrambling and exposure. Exploratory.

Walk | A bushwalk of any kind short or longEarly start. Park on the plateau at GR 250 324. Walk on Genowlan Mountain Trail to about GR 268 350, then walk east to a high pagoda at GR 271 350 seen on a previous walk. From here, move southwards and explore Mothers Arms area, then continue through the Land of the Stone Dragon and re-join the road at about GR 266 339. Walk back to the vehicles. Exploratory. Scrambling and exposure.
