For our Alphabet series, ‘X’ is for Xacuti. Join us to celebrate our multicultural heritage walks with authentic Indian cooking at Harris Park. We start from Kissing Point wharf, go along the cycleway alongside Parramatta River, looking out for native birds at Baludarri Wetlands, stopping briefly at the historical Hambledon Cottage before reaching our destination for our shared group lunch ($20). Parramatta signifies Sydney’s urban buzzy renewal so food streets like this won’t last. Return is by train. If eating, please confirm and email culinary/dietary preference. Limit: 15.

    (Cancelled) Cycle Budderoo & Hersey Fire trails to the start of the descent to below the falls. Locate the "chimney" and use rope to descent this and steep decent to track. Very steep, bring your own bicycle to get to track head, slippery, use of rope, unfenced cliff edges.

It is a beautiful short round trip walk that showcases the rainforest environment on the valleys of the Blue Mountains. Very easy access, some steep steps, overhangs, footbridges over streams, lyre birds, ferns and amazing atmosphere. Fireflies . Glow worms. We walk twice, once in the afternoon and once after dark. We have a break to have dinner before we walk to see the fly flies followed by Glow worms. Thai/ Hotel/IGA/Sports Club/Cafe/ Petrol Station available at Springwood. You must commit to both day and evening walks before RSVP. Bright Headlamp, preferably with red light, with spare batteries is essential for your safety. If you arrive with no headlamp, you will be turned back. Many steps, metal bits on ground, small creek crossings, muddy in parts. Limit:8.

    (Postponed) Start is at the Whites Creek wetland, Annandale along tree filled parks and the heritage listed sewage aqueduct to Rozelle Bay. The newly opened Rozelle Parklands is a 10 hectare greenspace has many paths, play equipment and views of the new West Connex Rozelle Interchange and its chaos.
After a few streets, we enter Callan Park, a 60-hectare heritage listed site with grand sandstone buildings, two remarkable war memorials and quiet green open spaces.

  The Pretty Plain area is a lovely part of Kosciuszko National Park. Great scenery, lovely bushland, and two of the best of the huts to camp nearby. Even better, we spend multiple days near each hut (two nights at Pretty Plain and three nights at Wheelers).
Access is via Dargals and Hell Hole Trails to Pretty Plain. We return along Pretty Plain and take the shortcut across to Wheelers Hut. Return is again via Dargals Trail.
At the start and end of walk we stay at a Ski Lodge at Jindabyne with the usual BBQs on the deck overlooking the lake. A lovely walk with lots of relaxing time.
